Odd mix, some good, some not so much
New in town so thought we'd try it out after the first few weeks of settling down. Decor is nicely done and staff are lovely. It's a mix of asian foods so not just 'Indian' style. We had poppadoms, prawn crackers and dips to start with. One dip was mango chutney but was more like jam. The next one we didn't know what it was so had to ask (as did other diners), it was yogurt with turmeric in so was very bland. The oddest one (amongst all diners around us too) was tinned chopped tomatoes. I mentioned it to the owner and he said they were 'pressed tomatoes'; nevertheless, they were tinned chopped tomatoes. I had fish goujons in chickpea batter to start; not much fish and thick stodgy batter. OH had sticky one inch cubes of ribs, tasty but small. Mains were red thai curry which was tasty and OH had Kerala curry which was mild but very tasty. We ordered Nepalese steam bread because we'd not had that before but I didn't like the texture of that at all so ordered a garlic naan which was delicious. Fabulous food and excellent service
What a great addition to Shrewsbury. The staff were so attentive and very friendly. Menu had plenty of choice and we were all really pleased with our food. We opted to go for tapas style and picked 7 of the small plates to share. Every plate was perfectly cooked. Would definitely recommend anyone to go for a great experience. Well done Yak and Yeti. Great meal, attentive service and a good varied menu - go try them out!
Although there's a front door, it's possible to enter around the back if you drive into the car park through the onstreet doorway (although there are limited spaces). This used to be a pub some time back and it's now been turned into a restaurant, so has a full bar. I brought my mother and some friends there for her 80th birthday. The day prior I contacted them and they accepted a table decoration, card, cake and candles in advance. I'd made a mistake with the booking (reserving 8 rather than 6 places) which wasn't an issue, but seems a different table was decorated upon our arrival, something that was quickly rectified. We didn't bother with a starter but opted for their poppadums and prawn crackers, which came with a sweet mango chutney, spicy red tomato chutney and some mint yoghurt. The meals are a mixture of Nepalese, Chinese, Thai and English - the menu features lamb chops, Thai red curry, Chinese noodles etc - quite a good variety to suit different needs. For my main, I went for the Goan Lamb curry, which was rich and thick - I didn't find it hot, but sure some others may disagree. I'd ordered some of their steamed bread as an accompaniment to try it out, but found it a bit stodgy, so didn't partake in much of it. Those with the chicken noodles found it a bit spicy but my mother's vegetable noodles wasn't, so I guess the spices were in the chicken. Service was excellent; they were very attentive, bringing out the cake with some pouring cream, and all sang her happy birthday! The whole lunch was reasonably-priced - we paid less than 20/head. First class all round.

Great new Shrewsbury restaurant serving superb food, beer and wine with excellent service in nicely renovated building.
Dropped in for a drink while out for an early evening walk. The menu looked so good we stayed to eat. Superb food and service with a good selection of beers and wines all at a very reasonable price. Absolutely amazing meal. We popped in for our anniversary as the reviews were so good and we were not disappointed. We shared a couple of starters, pork ribs and beef, both were delicious. I had green chicken shashlic for main and hubby had butter chicken. We enjoyed them both very much. The staff and service were excellent very welcoming and friendly. Booked the day before as our wife's were out together and we had a great meal, full of flavour and heat, if that rocks your boat! Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The menu may not be huge but there is plenty to suit your taste whether it be spicy or mild, the chips are amazing!! Only a short walk from the centre of town. Tastiest food in Shrewsbury, amazing flavours, great value for money
Wow, very exciting to have this new restraurant open in Shrewsbury. The staff were very welcoming. We went with friends and shared a number of starters and mains, we all loved every dish, amazing flavours, good value for money. Will definately be a regular, so many dishes to try!!!! Shrewsbury has lots of places to eat that don't really deliver BUT THIS PLACE DOES.
